Ottawa Area Christian Meditation Community
Deacon Ron McRae
Waiting for and on the Lord

Scripture readings for the Solemnity of Christ the King and the four Sundays of Advent offer profound insights that enrich our understanding and longing for the coming of God’s kingdom and the ultimate reconciliation of the Creator and all creation. Our committed practice of silence and stillness during these five weeks opens a space for us to reflect with anticipation, joy, and commitment upon just what it means to live as servants of the King of Kings, who came not to be served but to serve.

Ron McRae, a permanent deacon, has served in both the Archdiocese of Ottawa, where he was ordained, and in the Diocese of Peterborough. A graduate of Carleton University, St. Paul University, and the University of Toronto, he was Director of Public Programs for the Canadian Museum of Civilization (now the Canadian Museum of History) prior to retiring to pursue his faith journey and ordained ministry. His areas of interest and service included adult faith development, formation for liturgical ministry, preparation for and celebration of the sacraments of Christian initiation, and palliative care.

Recently, he dedicated his ministry to service in the domestic church – specifically providing care for his wife, Helen, and his mother, Claire. Ron and Helen now reside in Brighton where they enjoy the slower pace of life and appreciate the abundance of nature along the shoreline of Lake Ontario.

Registration begins at 9:00 am. Come early for fellowship. Book sales table will be open.
